Julia Edwards has been writing since she could clutch a pencil. With a BA in Semiotics from Brown University and an MFA in Playwriting from UC-San Diego, Edwards’ particular interest is the development of the young writer. She has taught storytelling classes for children as young as three and creative writing classes for elementary, middle and high school students, as well as college undergraduates.

Her theatrical works have been seen from LA to New York. FAMILY PLANNING won the LA Ovation Award for Best Production in a Small Theatre. Her play for young audiences, LOCKDOWN, was commissioned by and premiered at Southcoast Repertory Theatre, has been published through Youth Plays, and has seen productions at numerous high schools across the country.
